2010 National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Meeting

Planning is underway for the 2010 National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Meeting. Scheduled for December 6-10 in Washington, D.C., the event will be held in conjunction with the Ecobuild America Conference, offering potential exhibitors a great opportunity to reach Institute members and the wider building community.

If you exhibited at last year's conference, thank you for your participation and we hope you will return this year. If you weren't able to attend the 2009 conference, you missed a really well-received event that had great attendance and a wonderful exhibit hall. As the sponsor of Ecobuild America, we're excited to see a variety of sessions on this year's Ecobuild schedule in addition to our very own FEDCon '10, annual meetings for most of our councils and committees, and 40-plus technical sessions at our buildingSMART alliance Conference.

If you're an information technology vendor, exhibiting at Ecobuild will help you to reach professionals interested in building information modeling (BIM). The buildingSMART alliance Conference will have five threads, including BIM in education, geospatial information systems (GIS) and BIM, BIM standards, the BIM experience and green BIM. Other related activities include the buildingSMART International Users Group, the Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie); Specifiers' Properties information exchange (SPie); Energy information exchange (ENERGie); and BIMStorm Live.

If you're a product manufacturer or service provider, Ecobuild will also have tracks focused on building performance and technology; green building and sustainable design; and sustainable sites and infrastructure. With co-located events held by the Associated Builders and Contractors Green Building Symposium, World Energy Engineering Congress, and a number of other organizations, there are a variety of building industry audiences to reach.

The conference is the perfect place to get the word out about your product or benefit. AEC Science and Technology, which produces Ecobuild America, is offering a special package especially for members of the Institute. It includes:

One 10x10 booth (a $3150 value)

A full-page ad in the show program (a $3000 value)

Logo link on the show website (a $500 value)

Your company name in boldface, plus your logo in the show program (a $400 value)

Two VIP Passports to the conference sessions (valued at $595 each)

100 complimentary exhibit passes (worth $45 each) for your best customers and prospects

A 10% discount on any show sponsorship

The total program value is worth more than $8000, but the discounted cost is $4950.

Additionally, other sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available to showcase your company. For example, there will be an AEC Interoperability Center where design firms, construction companies and software developers demonstrate the latest BIM advancements. Plug-and-play kiosks make it easy; just bring a laptop and software to show the industry your wares.

This year's Annual Meeting is gearing up to be a big hit. I look forward to seeing you there.
