MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Phoenix Contact announces its schedule of training classes for the summer. All classes combine theory with hands-on exercises so students are prepared to apply the lessons in real-world situations.
The following classes are hosted at Phoenix Contact USA's headquarters, 586 Fulling Mill Road, Middletown, Pa., 17057:
o Advanced Network Security (June 7-8): The class reviews basic routing concepts and different types of firewalls. It also includes an overview of VPN technology, mGuard application scenarios and hands-on labs.
o Fundamentals of Communications (June 21-22): Students will learn the principles of data communications and serial data interfaces, industrial data connectors, device server applications and receive an introduction to bus systems. The course features hands-on exercises, basics of fiber optics and FO converters in data networks, as well as an introduction to wireless.
o Wireless (June 23-24): This class describes and compares different industrial wireless technologies, such as Trusted Wireless, Bluetooth and 802.11 Wi-FiŽ. Students will learn to apply these technologies to specific applications.
o PC Worx System Course I (August 2-5): Students will learn utilize the necessary automation hardware and software using the IEC 61131 structure as it applies to PC Worx. They will create sample projects in accordance with IEC 61131 programming standard.
