Philadelphia Scientific Announces Changes in Sales Force
MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa. - (October 13, 2006) - Philadelphia Scientific, a leading international manufacturer of industrial battery components, accessories and tools, today announced that Dan Grumbles has retired from the company and Byron MacKenzie has taken over Grumbles' role as western regional sales manager.
Grumbles has worked in the battery industry for 37 years. He began his career with Gould National Battery Company (GNB) in 1969, which was acquired by Exide Technologies and is located in Paramount, Calif. Grumbles then moved to the Santa Ana office of ManMac, Inc., a representative firm for C&D Batteries, now known as C&D Technologies. He stayed with the company until 1990, reaching the position of vice president of sales. After four years at Motive Energy, Inc. in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Grumbles transferred to C&D Technologies' Santa Fe Springs office, where he served as Los Angeles branch manager until 2001. Since 2001, he has been a contract employee for Philadelphia Scientific, overseeing sales in the western region.
MacKenzie will replace Grumbles as western regional sales manager, responsible for sales and customer development in the western United States, western Canada and Hawaii. He comes to Philadelphia Scientific with more than 30 years of experience in battery and accessory sales. Most recently, MacKenzie served as western regional manager for C&D Technologies, Inc. headquartered in Blue Bell, Pa. He has also held positions with Interstate Battery System in Dallas and Prestolite Batteries, Toronto, Canada.

Philadelphia Scientific has further expanded its support staff with the addition of Paula Carrelli as a customer service representative located in the company's Montgomeryville headquarters.
