Marine Paint Company's Environmentally Conscious Product Honored for Innovative Boat Care and Maintenance Solution
Rockaway, N.J. — Pettit Marine Paint, leading manufacturer of high performance American made marine coatings, announced today that its revolutionary Hydrocoat Eco has won the 2013 International Boatbuilder's Exhibition Conference (IBEX) Innovation Award in the Boat Care and Maintenance category. Organized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and judged by members of Boating Writers International (BWI), the award recognizes innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured, benefit to the marine industry and consumers, practicality, and cost-effectiveness. Pettit's award-winning Hydrocoat Eco provides unprecedented, environmentally friendly, multi-season protection for boats in the toughest marine environments.
When evaluating the submission, IBEX Innovation Award Judge Beth Leonard said, "This product is actually two good bottom-paint technologies made to work together."
"We are honored to receive this prestigious industry accolade," said Don Zabransky, vice president sales & marketing, Pettit Marine Paint. "Hydrocoat Eco is a highly-effective bottom paint designed to replace the harsh solvents found in most bottom coatings — both for safer application and cleaner water. This award is a true testament to the game-changing nature of our environmentally friendly, water-based solution."
The revolutionary Hydrocoat Eco combines Pettit's exclusive self-polishing, water-based, ablative technology with the highest level of metal-free organic Econea biocide – a powerful slime-fighting inhibitor – to provide environmentally friendly, year-round protection for boats in the toughest marine environments. The paint is easy to apply with a brush, roller or spray, and cleans up using only soap and water. The new formula has low volatile organic compounds (VOC's) and no heavy solvent smell. Hydrocoat Eco's self-polishing solution allows for a controlled release of biocides, while eliminating paint build up and the need for sanding between coats. The copper-free formula does not cause galvanic corrosion issues and is safe for use on all substrates including steel and aluminum. Available in white, blue, red, green and black, Eco is perfect for bronze Inboard Propulsion Systems (IPS) and jet drives, outdrives and outboard motors. Hydrocoat Eco's multi-season protection is effective in all weather conditions and will not lose effectiveness when removed from the water.
Hydrocoat Eco is available for $249.99 per gallon throughout the United States at fine marine supply stores and boatyards. For more information on Hydrocoat Eco, Pettit Marine Paint or its full line of marine coatings, please visit www.pettitpaint.com.
