Petroleum Development Oman LLC Chose Burckhardt Compression to Deliver Process Gas Compressor for MGI Facility
Burckhardt Compression has been awarded an order from Petroleum Development Oman LLC to deliver one Process Gas Compressor for the new MGI facility in the Sultanate of Oman. Responsible Contractor for the Project is Worley Parsons Oman Engineering LLC. Petroleum Development Oman LLC selected Burckhardt Compression to deliver one Process Gas Compressor for the MGI (Miscible Gas Injection) facility that will be installed at the Al-Noor Production Station (ANPS) in the Sultanate of Oman. Since the Al-Noor oil is miscible with hydrocarbon gas, miscible gas injection technology is adopted. The horizontal balanced opposed two stage reciprocating compressor lifts dehydrated gas from the MGI Dehydration Unit from 79 bar to 510 bar and delivers it to the injection gas trunk line for distribution to two injection wells.
Burckhardt Compression is experienced in compressor applications with discharge pressures up to 3'500 bar as well as for demanding applications handling difficult gases.
The company's Process Gas Compressors are manufactured according to API 618 5th edition including the latest state-of-the-art technology. They represent highest availability and a long meantime between overhaul, also thanks to in-house engineered and manufactured high quality compressor components and valves. Practice oriented design principles result in easy maintenance work and short downtime for overhauls. Delivery of the compressor is scheduled to be in Q3 2012.
