Perkins Named Managing Director of Drives Services, USA


(Will lead Services Team from base in New Berlin, WI)

NEW BERLIN, WI, March 29, 2007. . . Jim Perkins has been named managing director of Drives Services, USA for ABB, according to Rick Hepperla, senior vice president and general manager - Low Voltage Drives. Perkins will have additional matrix reporting to Aaron Aleithe, vice president and general manager - Medium Voltage Drives; and to Kevin Kosisko, vice president, ABB Services, North America, Hepperla noted. Perkins will be based in the ABB facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Perkins will be responsible for leading, directing and managing the life-cycle product service and support strategies, capabilities and implementation for LV & MV Drives businesses; functional activities will include: Product Repair & Remanufacturing; Spare & Replacement Parts; Upgrades & Replacements; Field Service (direct & indirect); and Customer Training.

Perkins' career includes 16 years with General Electric Corp. (GE) in various roles of progressive management responsibility across multiple geographic locations; these included leadership roles in GE's Medical Systems & GE/Fanuc business operations. He also was a corporate controller for Tenneco. Most recently, he held a senior management position in the Asset Management Services Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific in Brookfield, WI.

Perkins holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management from State University of New York, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University.
