San Diego, California - October, 23, 2007 - LEDs 2007 - PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in digital imaging, specialty lighting and optical detection technologies, today announced that it will showcase the newest members of its growing ACULED® family, the ACULED® VHL (Very High Lumen) and ACULED DYO (Design Your Own) at the LEDs 2007 conference, held October 24-26, 2007 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego, CA. Dr. Michael Kramer, Managing Director LED Solutions at PerkinElmer, will give a presentation titled "Design of Very High Power and High Performance LED Packages," on October 26 at 11:40 a.m. PT.
The LEDs 2007 conference provides a comprehensive overview of the LED market, technology breakthroughs of the past year, as well as the applications which are benefiting most from LED advancements. Dr. Kramer's presentation will outline the technical and economic requirements of designing improved, high-power, high-performance LED packages for the rapidly changing LED marketplace. Specifically, he will discuss approaches and solutions for state of the art and future LED packages and their thermal management.

ACULED® VHL - Enhanced ACULED platform with compact, easy-to-assemble design; long lifetime and improved thermal management. Monochromatic (UV, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, IR) and multi-color chips including an RGBY version. Each chip has a separate anode and cathode, enabling each of the chips to be driven individually, thus increasing flexibility around electrical layout. ACULED® DYO - 'Design Your Own' four-chip LED configuration to suit specific lighting application needs.
The ACULED product family is used in a wide range of applications including general illumination, specialty lighting, architectural lighting, automotive lighting, entertainment and mood lighting, display lighting, and medical lighting. All products in the ACULED family are fully RoHS-compliant.
