PerkinElmer's new ACULED VHL and ACULED DYO give customers flexibility to "Design-Your-Own" Ultra High Power LED for a host of lighting applications
New York City, NY - May 7, 2007 - Lightfair International 2007 - Booth #1141 - PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, a global technology leader in specialty lighting, optical detection technologies, and digital imaging, today announced that it will showcase its latest additions to the growing ACULED(r) family of standard and custom LED solutions at Lightfair International 2007, Booth #1141 from May 8 - 10 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. In addition to exhibiting its standard, high-power ACULED RGB products, PerkinElmer will feature two new offerings under the ACULED umbrella, the ACULED VHL (Very High Lumen) and the ACULED DYO (Design Your Own).
The new ACULED VHL is offered standard in monochromatic (UV, Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, IR) as well as multi-color chips including an RGBY (red-green-blue-yellow) version. The VHL offers outstanding brightness, improved luminous efficacy and all the benefits of the newly enhanced ACULED platform including its compact, easy-to-assemble design; long lifetime and improved thermal management. The thermal resistance of the ACULED VHL package can be as low as 4.5 K/W, depending on the chip configuration. In addition, each chip has a separate anode and cathode, enabling each of the chips to be driven individually, thus increasing flexibility around electrical layout.
The ACULED DYO gives customers the total flexibility to design their own four-chip LED configuration to suit their specific lighting application needs.

The ACULED product family is used in a wide range of applications including general illumination, specialty lighting, architectural lighting, automotive lighting, entertainment and mood lighting, display lighting, and medical lighting. All products in the ACULED family are fully RoHS-compliant.
PerkinElmer will be exhibiting in Booth #1141 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. PerkinElmer representatives will be available at the booth to demonstrate the design benefits of the complete line of standard ACULED products as well as its exclusive "Design-Your-Own" series.
