Pericom Rolls Out Two Spread Spectrum Clock Generator/Synthesizers Targeting Video and Graphic Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 5 / -- Pericom Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:PSEM), a worldwide preferred supplier of high-speed integrated circuits and frequency control devices, has broadened its Total Timing Solution portfolio with two new spread spectrum clock generator/synthesizer IC's that are ideal for EMI reduction in external video and graphic chipset applications that require down-spread such as Intel® Centrino(TM) mobile PC's based around the Intel "Napa" platform.
PI6C3420 and PI6C3421 are precision 27MHz spread-spectrum clock generators that accept a 14.318MHz crystal or 14.318MHz reference input to generate a 27MHz clock and a 27MHz clock with spread-spectrum. Pericom holds an industry advantage in that this advanced solution does not require a separate 27MHz crystal or 27MHz reference as does competitor devices because it takes the signal from the main motherboard clock.

PI6C3420 and PI6C3421 operate off 3.3V +/-10% power supply, and are guaranteed over the commercial temperature range (0 degrees C to +70 degrees C). Total generated short-term jitter performance is guaranteed to be less than 350ps.
