Lakeland, Fla., April 26, 2012 - PepsiCo, a world leader in convenient snacks, foods and beverages, has named Saddle Creek Corp. as its leading third-party provider. Saddle Creek's Lakeland campus has been awarded PepsiCo's 2011 "Warehousing Excellence Award" for detached distribution centers (DCs) as well as its second annual "Third Party of the Year Award" for playing an integral role in PepsiCo's warehouse delivered system.
The "Warehousing Excellence Award" is given to the DC that demonstrates optimal performance. Saddle Creek was chosen from all of PepsiCo's stand-alone distribution centers for this honor.
In addition, Saddle Creek's Lakeland campus finished first overall among PepsiCo's third-party providers, earning the "Third Party of the Year" award for the second consecutive year. This recognition is based on the 3PL's performance in a wide range of logistics functions.
"The Saddle Creek team always goes the extra mile - anticipating our needs, accommodating seasonal fluctuations, and performing at the highest level," said Chuck Ewing, PepsiCo's director of warehousing. "That commitment to service excellence, combined with the full range of integrated services they provide, makes Saddle Creek a logistics partner worthy of recognition."
Saddle Creek provides a wide variety of integrated logistics services for PepsiCo in Atlanta, Dallas and Lakeland, Fla. for the company's Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade brands. In addition to traditional warehousing services, Saddle Creek handles case picking, customization services, display building, international services, QA inspections, yard management, local delivery and line-haul.
"The fact that we can provide a full range of logistics services at the highest level in PepsiCo's network is very meaningful for us," said Butch Riggleman, Saddle Creek vice president and general manager. "We're fortunate to have an experienced team with a solid understanding of the customer's metrics and a demonstrated ability to execute against those metrics. We look forward to continuing our strong track record with PepsiCo."
