NSF International, an accredited standards developer and organizational member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced that Nancy Culotta, vice president for food safety product certification and consumer products, will retire this summer, following a noteworthy 25-year career.
Ms. Culotta first joined NSF International in 1985 as a product certification field auditor and went on to become the general manager of NSF's drinking water and wastewater programs. She left the organization for a year to develop a local community health organization, returning in 2000 to launch NSF's food safety auditing services. She was promoted in 2004 to vice president for retail food safety, and again in 2007 to vice president for food safety product certification. In that role she had responsibility for NSF's foodservice equipment, nonfood compounds, and bottled water certification programs.
Ms. Culotta has played a key role in globally expanding NSF's public health services to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. In 2010 she launched the NSF home product certification program, bringing NSF's considerable public health and safety expertise to the world of household kitchen appliances and other home products. She was also involved in the launch of NSF's drinking water treatment unit program and retail food safety program.
