People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer PLASA has announced the appointment of Richard Cadena as assistant technical standards manager for PLASA's North American office. He will also serve as technical editor for Lighting&Sound America, Lighting&Sound International, and Protocol magazines, published by PLASA's media division.

Mr. Cadena has more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment technology industry, including his most recent role as editor of PLSN magazine. He previously served in various professional lighting design roles at High End Systems and Martin Professional, in addition to extensive freelance work.

He has volunteered on the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) - now PLASA - Technical Standards Committee, and is an Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) certified entertainment electrician. He has authored four books on theater lighting.

PLASA is an international membership body for those who supply technologies and services to the event, entertainment, and installation industries. The association acts as a worldwide voice for the industry, providing a wide range of business resources, technical support, and commercial benefits to its members.
