People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has named Molly Mowery as associate project manager of its Firewise program. Ms. Mowery will assist NFPA in engaging state and local governments and residents about Firewise activities and wildfire safety issues.

Ms. Mowery brings a background in national land use planning and international project management to NFPA. Her previous positions include community planner at CSA International, information designer at Q Digital Studio, and associate director at Cairns Intersphere Consulting. She holds a master's degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where her thesis was focused on wildfire and planning in the Front Range region of Colorado, and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Naropa University.

NFPA's Firewise Communities program encourages local solutions for wildfire safety by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, firefighters, and others in the effort to protect people and property from the risk of wildfire. The program is co-sponsored by the USDA Forest Service, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the National Association of State Foresters
