People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has named David A. Johnston as executive director of the non-profit membership organization for the exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) industry. Mr. Johnston will be responsible for directing all association activities and representing EIMA in its work with national codes and standards developing organizations.

Mr. Johnston moves to EIMA from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), most recently as the director of codes and standards. Before BOMA he held various positions with the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), including director of government and public affairs, director of technical programs, and executive director of DBIA's Washington, D.C. chapter. He also served on the campaign staff of Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA), as senior director of federal affairs with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Mr. Johnston is a graduate of Thiel College in Pennsylvania and is currently completing graduate work in business administration at George Mason University in Virginia.
