People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The American Petroleum Institute (API), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has named Duane P. Brown as senior standards associate. In his new role, Mr. Brown will focus on API measurement standards of petroleum and related products, and natural gas, as part of API Committee on Gas Fluids Measurement.

Before joining API, he had worked for five years as a standards engineer at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), where he managed more than eighty industry recognized standards and guidelines.

Formerly a project engineer at MET Laboratories, and an applications engineer at the United Power Corporation, Mr. Brown holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering technology from the Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA.
