People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Mary Logan as its new president, effective April 6, 2009. She succeeds Mike Miller, who retired as AAMI's president after nearly forty years of service.
In this position, she will lead AAMI's future efforts, such as new member services and programs, a strong position in medical technology management, and collaborative relationships with outside stakeholders throughout the world.
With twenty years of senior management experience, she previously served as chief operating officer (COO) and general counsel of the American Dental Association (ADA), and prior to that, as general counsel for the global finance and administrative arm of The United Methodist Church.
