Clovis, CA - Pelco by Schneider Electric will soon release its first product that conforms to standards developed by the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF), with the release of Digital Sentry video management software version 7.2, scheduled for May 2011. Pelco by Schneider Electric will be demonstrating this new ONVIF 1.02-conformant software during ISC West 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the Pelco booth (#16042) and at the ONVIF Plugfest on Thursday, April 7.
"This new software release is the latest in a series of actions that are all part of our commitment to open standards," says Dave deLisser, Director of Integration Business Development for Pelco by Schneider Electric. "We are a full member of ONVIF, and in December, 2010, we hosted meetings of the Technical Committee and Technical Steering Committee of ONVIF."
Originally formed to create standards for interoperability in IP video security, ONVIF has recently established multiple working groups to develop a global standard for interoperability between network video products and physical access control systems. Pelco has made various technical contributions and holds leadership positions on some of the ONVIF working groups.

"With ONVIF conformance, customers now have a significantly wider choice in the IP cameras they select for use with Digital Sentry."
