Patsy Wells, CEO Of Wells Manufacturing Selected as a Finalist for the 2008 Enterprising Women of the Year Award
HOUSTON - Considered one of the most prestigious awards for accomplished women entrepreneurs, the Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration will be held Feb 28-Mar 1 at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Founded in mid 2002, Wells Manufacturing, an independent Houston-based manufacturing facility offers machining process development for customers that require regular or periodic production of custom manufactured components. The company is equipped with a proprietary database, WES (Wells Enterprise System) that among other things contains an extensive library of CNC programs that is utilized as a historical database for tooling and design specifications for repeat orders.
"The company has come a long way since we first opened our doors back in September 2002. Our first full year in business brought in $167K in total sales. In year four total sales came in at $830K representing a 397% growth rate since year one," said Patsy Wells, CEO and co-owner of Wells Manufacturing LLC.
"The judges are looking for fast-growth businesses owned by women who are leaders in their communities. We are particularly interested in recognizing women who mentor and give back to help other women and girls succeed," according to Monica Smiley, Enterprising Women Magazine Publisher & CEO.
"The company's greatest challenge since starting in 2002 is how to differentiate our company from many other very good manufacturing businesses that compete with us on a daily basis. We took a good long look at ourselves and saw that we could be good at delivering value by developing and adhering to efficient practices. So we set out to make things efficient and deliver on the value," says Ms. Wells.
Award winners receive national recognition for themselves and their businesses through local, regional and national publicity. Every winner and finalist is profiled with their photo in the special commemorative issue of Enterprising Women magazine in the spring of 2008.
