ParknPool Now Has Certified Playground Safety Inspector on Staff
Along with the recent release of an updated Playground Safety Guide, Chris Lopez, a ParknPool Account Manager, recently became certified as a playground safety inspector in the CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) program offered through the NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association).
LEXINGTON, VAÂ – Since adding playgrounds to their already extensive line of outdoor commercial furnishings and site amenities, ParknPool continues to educate themselves on the safety precautions that should be taken when installing and maintaining an outdoor play area. Along with their recent release of an updated Playground Safety Guide, Chris Lopez, a ParknPool Account Manager, recently became certified as a playground safety inspector in the CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) program offered through NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association).
The Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification is offered by the National Certification Board in coordination with the National Recreation and Park Association. The purpose of the CPSI certification is to be able to: identify hazards on public playground equipment and the playground itself; rank the hazards according to injury potential; and be able to apply the knowledge to remove the hazards and establish a system of inspections and maintenance.
The two day course, held in Richmond, Virginia September 19th through the 20th, discussed playground injury statistics, key references for playground safety, the major causes of death from playground equipment, as well as ways to avoid these injuries and deaths. The course was followed by a multiple choice exam which was administered on September 21st for all those wishing to become certified.
