SEOUL, Oct. 31st, 2006: Pantech&Curitel, the leading Korean handset manufacturer, today announced that the A1406PT, the second model that the company has released in Japan, has become the number two best-selling model of partner KDDI within two months of its launch.
Released in Japan in September, the A1406PT's practical design incorporating a range of security and convenience features including three 'one touch' keys and a security alarm attracted middle aged and elderly users. According to data from mobile media '+D Mobile', the A1406PT is already the sixth most popular handset in a country that sees 110 new models released every year.

Being the number two seller underlines our advanced technology and our ability to tailor our products to meet customer demand. The launch of the A1406PT pre-paid model in November will further consolidate our presence in the Japanese mobile phone market."
The phone is equipped with a large 2.4" LCD screen with enhanced visibility functions and key pad buttons with easy-to-read lettering. Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera supporting video clip recording and viewing, MP3 ringtones, email and EZweb functionality.
