ANSI Welcomes Pakistani Delegation



On behalf of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), seven new commercial attaches of the Pakistani government visited the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in Washington, DC, on May 19, 2010.

Discussions at the gathering ranged from voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment programs to the U.S. Standards Strategy to international development, particularly as it pertains to the StandardsPortal and ANSI Guest Researcher Program.

The Ministry of Commerce trainee officers are in the process of completing an intensive ten-month training program that covers topics such as finance, international trade, and the World Trade Organization (WTO), among others.

During their time in Washington, the group also met with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ASTM International.
