LINCOLN, RI - Packwell, Inc. a logistics service company based in LaPorte, TX has ordered a second TOPAS FFS machine from Windmoeller & Hoelscher. The TOPAS is scheduled for an early summer installation.
The new TOPAS will mark Packwell's entry into bagging powered PVC using FFS technology. Their first TOPAS is used for the packaging granular plastics.
While bagging powdered PVC with FFS technology has long been popular in Europe, US companies have employed this technology primarily for the bagging of free-flowing bulk goods, such as sugar, fertilizer, plastic pellets and salt. Recently, W&H has seen this change, with an increase in orders from US companies specifically for this application.
Packwell has covered warehouses in Houston, TX with over 120,000 sq. meters (1.3 million sq. ft.) of space. "We are now expanding globally, with our Shanghai warehouse operating since 2011. Our existing bagging capacity in Houston, TX is 4,200MT/day and expansion plans include Houston and international locations. Our intention with this additional W&H FFS TOPAS machine is to increase our capacity and flexibility for our customers," said Packwell Vice President, Ross Selvaggi.
