Aurora IL - Processing Technologies International, LLC (PTi) has introduced a complete line of sheet extrusion winding systems. The line-up contains several styles of winders including: Cantilever, A-frame, Turret and Automatic. Additionally these winding systems are supported by a line of sheet accumulators featuring fully integrated pneumatic tension control.
"Market demand drove us to develop these winding solutions", stated Dana Hanson, President of PTi. "Sheet producers are focusing more on turnkey solutions for their production requirements. Sheet winding systems are a natural extension of our product line. We have developed several styles of winders to suit the different needs of our customers. For example, the Automatic winder provides fully automated features including cut and transfer, shaft extraction, roll un-loading / core loading and roll weight measurement and recording."
Several of the winders are capable of differential shaft winding allowing for multiple webs on a single shaft. "We have been very pleased by the response from the market to date. We've installed multiple units since their introduction with several others on order. Although initially developed solely to support our sheet extrusion systems we've also decided to offer the winders/accumulators as stand alone units" stated John Chalmers, Vice President of Business Development.
PTi will be installing a 2,500 lb/hr dryer-less twin screw extrusion sheet system as part of the HVTSE (High Vacuum Ttwin Screw Extrusion) technology to demonstrate processing PET and PLA along with other polymers during in the 1st quarter of 2011. This system will also feature a Cantilever Winder and Sheet Accumulator for customers to view first hand their ease of operation and high quality construction.
