PTDA Foundation Raises Record Amount In 2008



Chicago-Oct. 31, 2008-The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Foundation set a new record for its annual fund drive in 2008, raising a total of $285,498. Two new $10,000+ level givers, IDC-USA (Partner level) and BC Bearing Group (Investor level), helped push total contributions to a 21 percent increase compared to 2007.

Continuing a history of strong support, Tomkins Corporation Foundation made a Partner-level contribution-their third at $25,000 level, bringing their total support to $75,000. The BDI/BDI Canada combined contribution puts them at the Investor level in 2008.

Highlights from the 2008 Foundation Fund Drive include:

o BC Bearing Group is the first single distributor contribution at the Investor level.

o IDC-USA ran a member fund drive, which raised more than $15,000 from 17 companies.

o A first-ever Pledge-A-Thon raised about $9,000 from smaller donors, up from $3,500 in 2007.

o The Heritage Society solicitation resulted in nine individual leader contributions totaling $5,250.

o Twenty-five individuals, companies and organizations have contributed to the fund drive for the first time (or after a four-year lapse in support), making total donations of $17,400.

o There were 50 increased contributions ranging from $50 to $3,000, totaling $43,079 in increased giving in 2008.
