PTDA 2014 Canadian Conference to Gather Key Power Transmission/Motion Control Decision Makers

Chicago, Ill.—Registration is now open for the PTDA 2014 Canadian Conference, to be held June 5 – 7, 2014, at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Québec City, Québec. This thirteenth annual business conclave unites the key decision makers of the Canadian Power Transmission/Motion Control (PT/MC) industry—an industry which represents $6.4 billion of the Canadian economy according to PTDA’s recently released PT/MC Market Size Report.

Networking opportunities abound at the PTDA Canadian Conference.  Starting early on June 5 there will be an optional golf outing at Mont Tourbillon.  Later that evening attendees will have the opportunity to meet channel partners—both new and established—in an informal format at the Welcome Reception/Industry Showcase featuring tabletop exhibits from PTDA’s manufacturer members.  On June 6 attendees will network at the elegant Parliament Building, the home of the Assemblée nationale du Quebec, just outside the walls of Old Québec.

“This conference not only provides a venue to meet key decision-makers all in one place, it also allows next-generation ideas to have a platform for debate within our industry,” says Bruno Mylchreest, regional manager of Mississauga, Ontario-based Timken Canada LP, and co-chair of PTDA’s 2014 Canadian Conference Planning Committee.

Education sessions will present PTDA Canadian Conference participants with celebrated achievers in their respective fields, sharing vital information designed to strengthen business in the Canadian market. BNN's Andrew Bell will provide an economic update, “Lifting the Loonie.” Québec radio host, Stephan Maighan, will present his inspirational tale on “Striving for Excellence.” And, consultant and author Nigel Southway will examine the benefits and provide tactics to facilitate reshoring in his session, “Take Back Manufacturing.”

In addition to high profile Canadian keynote speakers, a market briefing session will provide PTDA members with a better understanding of the needs of a key end-user market, and a panel discussion will focus on “How Technology is Affecting the Distributor/Manufacturer Relationship.”
