Educational Sessions at Process Expo: Unprecedented

Remarkable is rarely a word used in the context of educational programs, but that was the word that David Seckman, President of FPSA, used to describe the reaction to the educational offerings at PROCESS EXPO 2011. "The seminar program has been listed on line for just several weeks", said Seckman, "but the early registration has been remarkable". The unprecedented rush to grab the limited seats at the seminars has caused a flurry of activity among FPSA staff as they seek to find larger venues to house some of the more popular offerings. "We have expanded the seating of all the meeting rooms and the Siemens Educational Theater on the show floor", said Seckman, "to serve an audience of almost 100 people per seminar".

PROCESS EXPO is offering more than 30 hours of educational programming including a full day of seminars in Spanish on the Monday before the show opens. One person who was not surprised by the excitement surrounding the educational programs was Scott Scriven, President of Weber, Inc. and Chairman of FPSA. "Education used to be an after-thought, a " two-fer" at most trade shows", said Scriven. "But now it is an essential ingredient of the total experience. My customers are looking for an edge that provides them a competitive advantage. They recognize that these solid educational sessions at PROCESS EXPO can provide that edge".

Issues surrounding food safety are paramount in the educational offerings. And this topic is approached from a variety of perspectives and given by prestigious organizations such as NSF, International Poultry and Egg Association, and the National Association of Meat Processors. Industry consultants, trade press representatives, and experts representing some of the leading exhibitors round-out the faculty. In addition to food safety, sustainability, newly emerging technologies, energy and water management, doing more with less, and finding and keeping good employees are generating a tremendous amount of buzz from the registrants to PROCESS EXPO.

Registration to the seminars is free to all attendees of PROCESS EXPO. For information about PROCESS EXPO and a complete list of the seminar offerings, go to www.myprocessexpo.com
