PIV Drives supplied single screw extruder drives for a 35 m high blown film line, that was installed in Spain
One of the many applications for blow film lines are agricultural films, that are used in modern cultivation systems to increase yields by covering vast areas of agricultural regions. For this purpose single- and multi-layer wide films are produced on blow film lines. Reifenhäuser, one of the world's leading manufacturers of plastic processing and machine lines, has been building wide film extrusion lines since 1969, PIV Drives has been building single screw extruder drives since 1980.
High performance, product quality, high degree of reliability and long life are the demands of modern plastics processing industries in general and especially regarding blow film lines.
The new 3-layer blow film line installed in Spain is designed for an extremely high production capacity of 2200 kg/h. Films of a circumference of up to 18,5 metres and thickness from 0,080 to 0,200 mm can be produced on this line. The total construction height reaches 35 metres. This line produces mainly film for greenhouse construction, tunnel film for vegetable growing and field covering film can also be produced.
For the extruders of this production line PIV Drives delivered three single screw extruder drives with integrated thrust bearing of his series POSIREX I, two for 150 mm screw diameter and one for 200 mm screw diameter. As the extruder is the heart and key component of a modern extrusion line and crucial to achieve highest levels of product quality and performance, the extruder drives have also to guarantee high performance, high product quality, reliability and long life.
Performance, quality and flexibility: Single screw extruder drives POSIREX by PIV Drives
This PIV Drives series of gear reducers with attached or integrated thrust bearing can be supplied as helical or bevel helical gear. Quiet operation (75 to 80 dBA) and strong design are key features. The helical gears for reduced noise are case hardened (in our own harding bay) and ground. The profiles are corrected for optimum inertia. Mounting position horizontal or vertical, splash lubrication and cooling coil with or without injection lubrication are possible options. The modular design of the POSIREX series is based on the POSIRED 2 (parallel shaft and right angle gear reducers) range allowing all sizes and variations of this series, plus appropriate thrust bearing parts.
