PACK EXPO Sponsors WPO's Worldstar 2010 Awards Ceremony



Arlington, Va.; - PMMI, owner and producer of the PACK EXPO family of trade shows, is pleased to announce PACK EXPO has signed on as Platinum Sponsor of the World Packaging Organization's (WPO) WorldStar awards ceremony.

WPO will present these "best-of-the-best" packaging awards on May 17, at a special event during Interpack 2011 (Düsseldorf, Germany; May 12-18, 2011). The honor recognizes the best packages among award-winners from competitions around the world.

"It's an honor to be part of such a great event and to bring more attention to innovative packaging," says Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO of PMMI.
With the WorldStar Awards, WPO is choosing the best packaging from among 278 entries. These entries, representing 30 countries, will be judged in seven categories: Beverage, Electronic, Food, Health & Beauty, Household, Pharmaceutical & Medical and "other." WPO will also present its President's Award and Sustainability Awards at the May event.

"Excellence and innovation are the hallmarks of PACK EXPO, so it's very fitting that we sponsor an event recognizing both," Yuska says.

The ceremony will also include a drawing for a trip for two attendees to PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2011 (September 26-28, Las Vegas Convention Center); PMMI is providing the trip.
PACK EXPO Las Vegas, at the Las Vegas (Nevada) Convention Center in September, will draw about 25,000 attendees and feature more than 900 packaging and processing solutions providers serving markets as diverse as food and beverage, confectionery, pharmaceutical and industrial uses.
