SYRACUSE, N.Y. (April 8, 2009) - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, has been selected as a Category Winner in the 2009 Electrical Construction & Maintenance Product of the Year competition for its Tamper-Resistant Nightlight/GFCI Receptacles. The devices earned the recognition in the Wiring Devices category. Platinum, Gold and Silver Product of the Year winners will be announced in July.
The P&S Tamper-Resistant Nightlight/GFCI Receptacle is a GFCI receptacle with a built-in nightlight, providing safety and convenience for homeowners, contractors and remodelers. The Receptacle also includes a shutter system, preventing children from inserting metal objects into the socket and touching electrically live components.
The Receptacles meet the 2008 National Electrical CodeŽ (NEC) standards for child electrical safety. The sealed LED nightlight has a 20-year life expectancy, eliminating the need to change bulbs. A photocell illuminates in the dark and turns off automatically in the daytime, saving energy.
