Significant Enhancements in Latest Release Intended to Support Complex Business Operations for Oracle's JD Edwards World Customers
NEW YORK, Jan. 31 // -- Today at Oracle's (NASDAQ:ORCL) global "Applications Unlimited" launch held on 6 continents over 24 hours, Oracle previewed Oracle's JD Edwards World A9.1, the World Renaissance Release. As a proof point to Oracle's "Application Unlimited" program, the new JD Edwards World release is expected to offer enhanced functionality including upgrade tools and processes and to provide customers with compliance support, operational excellence, technology improvements and capabilities for global operations to better meet the critical needs of its installed customers.

"The planned capabilities are specifically designed to maximize the existing investments of our customers. Using JD Edwards World A9.1, customers should be able to easily and efficiently integrate and upgrade their enterprise applications software."
Developed for the IBM System i business computing platform, JD Edwards World A9.1 continues Oracle's relationship with IBM. Developers from Oracle and the IBM System i division coordinated efforts throughout the development cycle to optimize performance of A9.1 on System i.

By including a process of rigorous and robust testing in the development process, Oracle intends for JD Edwards World A9.1 to reduce the cost and complexity of integration, improve upgradeability and decrease an organization's total cost of ownership. By leveraging the manufacturing and distribution enhancements, users should be able to streamline operating costs to realize operation excellence. These plans enable customers to support complex business processes with minimal costs, providing significant value to a broad range of organizations.

JD Edwards World A9.1 is scheduled to be available for traditional deployment, and on demand via Oracle On Demand.
