Press release date: October 2, 2007

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 2 -- Oracle Communications today announced that a productized integration approach that is based on the OracleŽ Application Integration Architecture. This will be the communications industry's first pre-integrated business application platform, tailored to enable communications service providers to deliver world-class customer service, launch compelling services faster, and reduce implementation risk and operational costs.

As part of the Oracle Application Integration Architecture, Oracle plans to deliver Industry Reference Models, which will give customers and partners tools and documented business processes to create unique, integrated process flows across heterogeneous environments. With these models, customer and partners are expected to more easily adopt industry best practices and implement unique processes that meet specific business needs and should be protected through upgrade cycles. Additionally, Oracle is working with the leaders in the systems integrator community to co-develop best practice industry processes and model.

Addressing key business needs of service providers worldwide, these pre- built integrations will enable service providers to speed time-to-market for new services, discover new revenue streams through enhanced data analysis and capitalize on new opportunities by rapidly adapting streamlined business processes.

Based upon Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Communications will deliver pre-built, extensible, mission- critical business process integrations across Oracle Communications product applications including Oracle's Siebel CRM, Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment Suite, Oracle E- Business Suite, Oracle Service Delivery Platform, as well as, third-party and legacy applications.

"Integrating and configuring multiple applications is extremely time- consuming and costly for service providers, impacting their time-to-market goals and their bottom line," said Shira Levine, Senior Research Analyst at IDC. "Oracle's Application Integration Architecture for Communications will enable service providers to incrementally adopt a SOA-based infrastructure, while focusing its investments towards delivering innovative, profitable services."

"Oracle's Application Integration Architecture for Communications will be a clear reflection of Oracle's strategy and differentiated approach in increasing the levels of productization within a service provider's infrastructure," said Bhaskar Gorti, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications. "By combining our extensive Oracle Communications application portfolio with Oracle Fusion Middleware, we are in a unique position to deliver unprecedented value to service providers worldwide, helping them to strategically transform their businesses, launch next-generation services, and better serve their customers."

Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Communications will be composed of key components, such as:

o Industry Reference Models - industry-specific concepts and documented business processes to create unique, integrated and upgradeable process flows across disparate applications or systems; o Process Integration Packs - pre-built, sustainable integrations across Oracle applications enabling rapid implementation of a business process while reducing the cost and burden of integration; o Pre-built SOA leveraging Fusion Middleware SOA suite - accelerates service provider time-to-value when adopting a SOA architecture while providing flexibility, maintainability and reuse.
