Wood Dale, IL- The Consumable Products Group (CPG) offers an extensive line of Van-TG Premium High Performance Filters to optimize machine performance. Proper filtration can save EDM users money and time relating to production and maintenance. Sub micron particles resulting from low-quality filters will lead to poor machine performance, including reduced cutting speeds, low-quality surface finishes, wire breakages and increased maintenance on worn parts.

Some filters that claim to last longer than the premium OEM filters are actually sacrificing the quality of the work. For example, if a premium 5 micron filter is switched to a 10 micron filter, the filter life will increase because the particles below 10 microns will not get filtered.

So where do these particles go if the filter isn't collecting them? The DI system is next in line after the filtration system, so the resin will have to do the job intended for the filters. If the resin system is acting as a particle filter, the structure of the resin bed is coated in dirt and cannot do the job it should be doing.

In short, the resin life is decreased, which ends up costing more money. These particles could also prematurely wear out other machine parts such as solenoid valves, flow meters, jet nozzles, guides and bearings. The result: more money and lost production time due to increased maintenance.

CPG's premium 5-micron filters are now available in 0.5-1.5 microns for those micro-grain carbide and small wire jobs. CPG's Van-TG Premium High Performance Filters provide several unique design features that pack in more surface area to catch debris, keeping EDMs running at peak efficiencies.

CPG is a division of MC Machinery Systems, Inc. CPG provides leading consumable products for the efficient operation of wire and sinker EDMs, laser and waterjet equipment.
