Press release date: May 21, 2007

MILPITAS, Calif., May 21 / -- OpVista today announced its certification to deliver MEF 9 services, as well as membership in the Metro Ethernet. The Metro Ethernet Forum is the pre-eminent organization dedicated to accelerating the worldwide adoption of carrier class Ethernet networks and services.

"OpVista's MEF 9 certification and its membership in the Metro Ethernet Forum further underscores the company's dedication to providing Carrier Ethernet Transport to service providers," said Winston Way, Chief Technology Officer. "Ethernet has become the standard delivery method of high bandwidth applications, including video, and OpVista can now support its customers in offering MEF 9 Ethernet Private Line services to their customers."

A non-profit organization, the Forum is comprised of leading service providers, major incumbent local exchange carriers, top network equipment vendors, test equipment vendors and other prominent networking companies that share an interest in metro Ethernet.

OpVista's approach represents a departure from other CET strategies that require "forklift" upgrades or lack capacity and scalability to support true next-gen services. OpVista is unique in its ability to both simply and easily transform a carrier's existing, legacy infrastructure into a CET-ready network.

Furthermore, using OpVista's unique optical multicasting solution, carriers can deliver bandwidth in single wavelength increments to any node at any time. As carriers make the transition to IP and Ethernet-based services, OpVista is there to help carriers realize greater revenue and reduce both operating and capital expenditures.
