Press release date: May 8, 2011

Determining total oil/grease levels in wastewater for compliance with governmental regulatory discharge permits is a worldwide problem facing numerous industries including chemical, oil and gas, and biofuels. To ensure compliance with discharge regulations and avoid fines for exceeding permit levels, more frequent wastewater measurements are necessary to determine the total oil/grease concentration. Wilks Enterprise, Inc. manufactures portable infrared analyzers that are specifically designed for easy, on-site measurement of oil/grease levels. They can be readily used by non-technical personnel and eliminate the need to wait for off-site lab results.

Based on field-proven infrared technology, the InfraCal TOG/TPH Analyzers -- Model HATR-T2 or the Model CVH - depending on the solvent selected for the extraction process - provide accurate, on-site measurement of total oil/grease concentration in the wastewater. Typical analysis time is 10-15 minutes, including the extraction procedure. Measurement data obtained with the Model HATR-T2 correlates to EPA Method 1664 and with the Model CVH to ASTM Method D 7066-04 and EPA Methods 413.2 and 418.1.

Over 2,500 InfraCal TOG/TPH Analyzers are currently in worldwide use measuring discharge levels into treatment centers, monitoring refinery and industrial plant wastewater effluents, and analyzing produced water on off-shore and on-shore oil platforms. They provide the assurance that oil/grease content of the wastewater will meet various regulatory requirements.
