April 2007, Minneapolis, USA...Omnetics, the leading manufacturer of miniature high rel connectors, is now delivering its ultra-reliable, lightweight circular interconnect solutions to the medical industry. Featuring Omnetics' patented Nano Flex Pin contacts, connectors are finding applications in human-interface systems, and are available with custom cables and jackets to allow disinfection and reuse as needed.

Providing levels of quality and reliability first demanded by military systems, Omnetics' circular inserts are often molded directly into medical equipment handles or instruments, forming an integral part of the designer's product. A range of standard sizes including some off-the-shelf parts allow quick evaluation and prototype development.

Omnetics built-In circular designs are available in three different diameters and offer up to 27 positions in mated pairs on a .050" pitch. Standard wiring includes Teflon-insulated 26 gauge stranded wire to achieve maximum cable flexibility. Solder cup connector shells are also available. Custom wire and mechanical assemblies are readily available.

Specific medical applications include catheters, sensors and stimulators.
