Olympus NDT Announces Free Webinar "Improving Small Diameter Pipe Weld Inspections with Encoded Phased Array".

This free webinar scheduled for December 7 at 10.00 AM EST (15:00 GMT) and 2:00 PM (19.00 GMT) provides a brief overview of the physics of phased array ultrasound and demonstrates the benefits of this innovative technology for the inspection of small diameter piping in new construction or during the maintenance of boilers, heaters, cracking furnaces and other piping systems. Although radiography has been the inspection tool of choice for many years for these inspections, this 45-minute presentation discusses the many advantages of phased array ultrasound: mainly faster and safer inspections without shutting down the work area around the inspection and providing additional flaw measurement capability over radiography. The latest advances in portable semi-automated ultrasonic systems along with low-profile scanners, probes and wedges optimized for small diameter piping are important factors that have contributed to the acceptance of phased array in the petrochemical and related industries. Attendees can register at: www.olympus-ims.com/en/webinars/pipe-weldinspection/

Attend this 45-minute webinar to learn how Olympus NDT's experience will benefit your inspections on small diameter piping:

o Advantages of Phased Array Ultrasound
o Faster, safer inspections that do not require shutting down the work area
o Additional flaw measurement capabilities

The presenters for this webinar are Nick Bublitz & Mark Carte. Nick Bublitz is the Technical Support Manager for the Americas Region at Olympus NDT. Based in Houston, Nick supports customers and Olympus NDT personnel across Canada, USA, and South America. In his sixth year with Olympus, he has conducted many industry and educational seminars, discussions, and trainings. Nick has an A.A.S in Nondestructive Testing Technology and has vast experience in Ultrasound/Phased Array/TOFD, Eddy Current/Eddy Current Array, and Bond Testing.
