CENTER VALLEY, Pa., March 11, 2010 - Building on its leadership position in optical measuring and inspection, Olympus America Inc. has expanded its industrial instrument distribution network to better meet customer needs. Olympus has named B&B Microscopes, Ltd., and Hunt Optics and Imaging, Inc., exclusive Olympus industrial microscope dealers covering 11 states east of the Mississippi.
B&B Microscopes is now the exclusive Olympus industrial microscope distributor in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia and Delaware. Hunt Optics and Imaging now represents Olympus industrial microscopes in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.
"This new alliance of outstanding dealers will help to expand our customer base while providing even better service and support throughout these key regions of the United States," said Matt Smith, director of sales and marketing for Olympus America's Scientific Equipment Group - Industrial Microscopes.
In addition to expanding its dealer network, Olympus has recently strengthened its nationwide support and service network with new personnel, features and enhanced availability and response times. The company also has introduced a key product, the LEXT OLS4000® laser confocal microscope.
Both B&B and Hunt are experienced solution providers, with extensive knowledge of industrial research, engineering and manufacturing in both traditional and new markets. B&B and Hunt also have been dealers for the Olympus Scientific Equipment Group's Bioscience Microscope and Imaging Systems business unit for some time. "Olympus has great faith in our dealers' ability to provide our customers with access to the best optical applications and solutions for their industrial measuring and inspection needs," Smith said.
