Press release date: September 12, 2006
Bedford, MA- Diversified Technologies, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of solid-state power supplies, pulse modulators, and related high voltage and high power equipment was granted an exclusive license from the Ohio State University Research Foundation to build and sell PEF (pulsed electric field) treatment chambers and also sub-license the process.
Diversified Technologies' PEF Treatment Chambers subject liquids to brief pulses of very high voltage, resulting in >5 log bacteria kill and achieves this in a straight, continuous flow with no entrapment areas. Sanitary, FDA-approved, and cleanable, the chambers provide a uniform pulsed electric field across the liquid flow and are scalable for production applications.
According to Michael Kempkes, VP Marketing at Diversified Technologies, "This license allows us to build and sell the best PEF-based sanitization systems available; combining our patented solid-state power systems with the best treatment chambers developed by Ohio State University scientists."
Based upon this license arrangement, Diversified Technologies' is already building PEF systems ranging from R&D pilot scale to industrial installations.
