October ANSI Caucus to Feature ASHRAE Vice President



On Friday, October 5, the ANSI Caucus will feature Andrew Persily, vice president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). During his presentation, Dr. Persily will discuss standards and the future of the built environment.

As a Society vice president, Dr. Persily is a member of the ASHRAE Board of Directors and the Executive Committee and serves as vice chair of Technology Council. He is an ASHRAE Fellow, and is group leader at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Dr. Persily is also chair of the Building Safety and Security Special Committee and the Advanced Indoor Air Quality Design Guide steering committee, a member of the Guideline 29P Committee, Guideline for Risk Management of Public Health and Safety in Buildings, and a member of ASHRAE Vision 20/20, IAQ2007 ad hoc committee, the Society Rules Committee, and the Planning Committee.

Past service includes chair of the Standard 62.1 Committee, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Commercial, Institutional and High-Rise Residential Buildings, chair of the Environmental Health Committee, and chair of a technical committee related to ventilation requirements and infiltration.

Dr. Persily is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and the Standards Achievement Award.

The October Caucus event will begin at 12:00 noon with general networking; lunch will be served promptly at 12:30 pm.
