Expands Broadest Tunable Product Portfolio

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Oclaro, Inc.-(NASDAQ: OCLR), a tier-one provider of optical communications and laser solutions, today announced the production release of an advanced zero-chirp full-band tunable XFP (TXFP) that delivers full 300-pin equivalent performance in a small, pluggable, MSA footprint with low power consumption. As a volume supplier of tunable laser solutions, Oclarohas developed an extensive product portfolio and the addition of the advanced zero-chirp TXFP transceiver strengthens this technology leadership. The company will be showcasing its tunable laser portfolio at the upcoming ECOC show (booth #1368 & 1370) on September 19-21, 2011, in Geneva, Switzerland.

"Oclaro has established a leadership position in the tunable laser market by offering the broadest product portfolio and has continued to raise the bar on performance, reliability and increasingly small form factors," said Jim Haynes, President and General Manager of Oclaro's Photonic Components Business Unit. "Our customers need tunable lasers in a variety of formats and our goal is to be the one-stop shop with the solutions that match their evolving product requirements."

Oclaro's extensive product portfolio of tunable lasers includes continuous wave tunable laser assemblies, tunable transmitter assemblies, MSA 300pin 10Gbps SFF transponders, 40Gbps tunable transponders, tunable pluggable transceivers, and tunable XFP transceivers in both negative chirp and zero chirp for the C-band and L-band.

About the Zero-Chirp Tunable XFP

Oclaro offers the advanced zero chirp TXFP in various configurations, including APD or PiN Rx options. Along with the negative chirp TXFP and the first generation tunable pluggable transceivers, customers now have the option to migrate all 10Gbps DWDM links to a pluggable form factor without compromising on system performance. The new Zero-chirp Tunable XFP is fully qualified and released to production.

Pluggable Roadmap

Oclaro continues to enhance 10Gbps DWDM links by announcing high efficiency versions of T-XFP for low power dissipation and high temperature environments, as well as preparing for the next generation of small form factor pluggable formats.
