Dunedin, Florida (October 20, 2006) - To better serve the needs of the rapidly expanding Asian market, Ocean Optics has established Ocean Optics Asia in Shanghai, China. The new office will provide local product sales and support for the company's optical sensing, display optics, and biophotonics technologies.
Headed up by Director of Asia Operations Dr. Ling Sun, the new office will enable the company to speed response and support for its distributors and customers with a staff of application, sales and software engineers. The company's complete product line, including miniature optic fiber spectrometers, optical sensors, sampling accessories, light sources, fibers, probes, thin films and optics, will be available. In addition to expert technical support, the office offers a complete product demonstration line and a comprehensive application database, as well as locally based warranty services and training opportunities.
"Ocean Optics Asia is the last link in our chain of global reach," explained Ocean Optics President, Mike Morris. "With our Dunedin, Florida headquarters, Ocean Optics BV Europe in Duiven, the Netherlands, and Mikropack in Ostfildern, Germany, we're able to provide global support 24-hours a day."
