Mobile payments pioneer discusses how global leaders can propel change in banking access and affordability

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and DAVOS-KLOSTERS, Switzerland, Jan. 26, 2011 - Carol Realini, executive chairman and founder of Obopay, Inc., a pioneer in mobile payments, will participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2011, an invitation-only meeting of leaders from industry, government, academia, civil society and the media that serves to shape the world agenda and act as a catalyst for solutions to global challenges. Realini will be part of the Technology Pioneers panel, which will discuss the topic of "Overcoming Challenges As An Entrepreneur," and will participate in the "IdeasLab: Wicked Solutions for Wicked Problems with the Technology Pioneers" presentation and discussion.

"Working on three continents I am able to see first-hand the remarkable changes in banking access and affordability that are taking place," said Realini. "It is important for leaders everywhere to understand the potential of leveraging mobile phones to provide financial services that can empower life and work, especially those who have traditionally been excluded. Collaboration on the part of the world's leaders is a key part of achieving this goal."

The Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, provides the opportunity for business, political and academic leaders to rethink the world's systems, and explore strategies and solutions that can have positive transformational implications. The theme of this year's meeting is "Shared Norms for the New Reality,"to reflect the focus of maintaining public trust in leadership, strong economic growth and political stability in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
