NEMA4-Rated Enclosure Provides Security for Outdoor Wireless Installations
State College, PA - As data use continues to rise sharply, cellular providers are expected to continue to offer wireless capabilities as a means to reduce the load on their networks. Network designers face enormous challenges in planning and implementing networks to address growing wireless demand throughout larger areas than ever before. Oberon, Inc.'s rugged yet aesthetic Model 1025-00 features a fiberglass NEMA-4 construction to help network designers place access points where they are needed with the extra protection needed to ensure wireless performance in outdoor and other challenging environments.
The sturdy, locking cover of the 1025-00 provides physical security while remaining virtually invisible to radio frequency signals, making the enclosure ideal for wireless access points with non-detachable antennas. The 30% fiberglass reinforced polyester composition provides strength without compromising performance.
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) rates enclosures according to the ability to protect against such hazards as falling objects, water, ingress of water, and the formation of ice on the enclosure. Oberon Model 1025-00 is designed to meet NEMA 1, 2 , 4, 4X, 12,13, IP65 specifications and is UL-Listed and tested to UL508-4X requirements. In the Model 1025-00, Two holes in the bottom of the enclosure accommodate data and power cables. With proper sealing, the 1025 is NEMA-4 rated for outdoor use.
