OMAX® Corporation to Demonstrate Abrasive Waterjet Versatility at EuroBLECH

Press release date: July 22, 2014

Attendees to see MAXIEM® and OMAX machines cut various materials with speed and accuracy

KENT, Wash. – At EuroBLECH 2014, October 21-25 in Hanover, Germany, OMAX Corporation will showcase the cutting performances of the redesigned MAXIEM 1515 Jet Machining® Center, as well as the OMAX 60120 JetMachining® Center with a new EnduroMAX® Pump, in Hall 12, Stand H36. Attendees will experience how the advanced abrasive waterjet technology of these versatile machines can cut simple to complex shapes from a variety of materials, including advanced composites, exotic alloys, traditional metals and rubber, with speed and accuracy.

The 1515 is one of the newest advanced abrasive waterjet systems from the company’s next generation MAXIEM product line. The latest MAXIEM machines take the cost-effective yet high-performance technology of their predecessors a step further, offering faster cutting speeds, more cutting power, easier control software and greater accessory options. This results in an overall increase in productivity and profitability.

At EuroBLECH, the company will pair the MAXIEM 1515 with a 30 kW direct-drive pump and an optional A-Jet® multi-axis cutting head to demonstrate how easy it is to cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks. The A-Jet also compensates for taper and creates 3D complex shapes.

Visitors to the OMAX Corporation stand will also experience the fast, precise cutting performance of the OMAX 60120 JetMachining Center with the latest 75 kW EnduroMAX Pump and Tilt-A-Jet® cutting head accessory that achieves virtually zero taper with no reduction in cutting speed for the precision cutting of parts with square, taper-free edges, including interlocking pieces and dovetail fittings. Ideal for a wide range of production runs across various industry segments, such as aerospace, energy, and fabrication, the bridge-style machine can cut complex parts from virtually any material.

The 75 kW electric motor of the latest EnduroMAX Pump allows it to deliver 63.4 kW to the cutting nozzle, while an intensifier pump produces about 48.5 kW. With 30 percent more power at the nozzle than intensifier pumps, this advanced direct-drive pump can create a strongerabrasive stream, resulting in faster cutting speeds and higher productivity. In addition, the EnduroMAX’s advanced design maximizes machine uptime with its 1,000-hour operating range between required rebuilds – making it every bit as reliable as modern intensifier pumps.

In addition to these advanced abrasive waterjet systems on display at EuroBLECH 2014, OMAX Corporation will showcase its new generation Intelli-MAX® Software, which improves ease of use and productivity on both OMAX and MAXIEM JetMachining Centers.

With so many diverse offerings in its product portfolio, OMAX Corporation offers the broadest range of table sizes, pumps, accessories and software. Moreover, the company’s abrasive waterjet technology provides a flexible and beneficial alternative to conventional machining operations. In fact, with OMAX abrasive waterjet technology, manufacturers can accomplish quick turnaround of accurate parts without the need of tool changes or complex fixturing, as well as achieve smooth surface finishes without heat-affected-zones, reducing the need for secondary machining.

Furthermore, OMAX Corporation has a comprehensive global service and support network, including 14 European distribution partners, to provide manufacturers with increased access to the company’s waterjet technology as well as applications support, training and expert service technicians.
