OMAC Plans Connect-and-Pack(TM) Seminar at Packaging Automation Forum 2009



Research Triangle Park, NC (2 February 2009) - OMAC's first Connect-and-Pack(TM) Seminar will take place at Packaging Automation Forum 2009, held at the InterContinental Chicago O'Hare on Monday, March 30, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The seminar will be featured as part of the Make2Pack and Connect-and-Pack(TM) Workshop Program at the event. Dave Chappell, Chairman of Make2Pack and former Corporate Technical Section Head at Procter & Gamble, and Dave Bauman, Technical Director of OMAC, will lead the seminar. Representatives from end user and technology provider companies will also participate, offering in-depth, practical information for both packaging end users and OEMs.

The workshop, which costs $325 to attend, will feature hands-on demonstrations of technology. Attendees will learn the ease of implementing packaging line functions (control, HMI, MES) when utilizing the OPW Connect-and-Pack(TM) concepts contained in the technical report approved by the ISA88 Committee in June 2008, and the "soon to be released" Make2Pack concepts described by the ISA88 Part 5 standard.

OMAC will also hold a roundtable discussion on PLM and Virtual Commissioning and a series of meetings at this week's ARC Forum in Orlando, FL. The workshop at ARC offers information about emerging PLM needs and requirements, including virtual commissioning.
