Press release date: January 5, 2009

Macomb, Mich., January 5, 2009 - Nylok, the world leader in value-added fastener parts, announced that PRECOTE 85 has been approved at GM to meet GM-6175M and GM-6194M test specifications.

"With this approval we can now be specified for GM projects requiring more rigorous performance requirements in North America and around the world with GM specification GMW14657," said Nilo Urbani, General Manager at Nylok. "PRECOTE 85 provides superior locking for automotive applications such as power train and other high-stressed threaded bolts with controlled friction."

Nylok's turquoise PRECOTE 85 is a high strength pre-applied fastener adhesive with unequalled controlled torque vs. tension properties, as well as excellent vibration resistance under high temperature applications. Resistant to temperatures up to 390ºF (200ºC) it can be applied on screws, studs and non-standard parts, as well as threaded plugs and pipe threads. Maximum strength is achieved within six hours at room temperature, and there is no uncontrolled post curing, even after repeated temperature exposure.

PRECOTE® is one of Nylok's chemical adhesive products which save manufacturing labor costs by eliminating additional locking devices and the need for messy, inconsistent in-house application of adhesives. PRECOTE chemical adhesives are ideal for automotive, aerospace, electronics, telecommunications and other high technology industries.
