Nudo Products Adds Second Davis-Standard Sheet Line |

(Pawcatuck, Conn.)--A newly installed Davis-Standard, LLC sheet system will enable Nudo Products, Inc. of Springfield, Illinois, to further develop its paneling product line and custom sheet business. The system, which features a 4 ˝-inch (114mm) extruder and 60-inch wide EX-M-PLAR® roll stand, is engineered to process HDPE, LDPE, HMWPE, polypropylene and ABS with a variety of special additives and colors. Since the nature of Nudo's production is highly customized, the line is capable of manufacturing sheet that is 15 mil to .5 inches (12mm) thick. It is also set up for a secondary coextruder when needed. Equipment versatility is essential since Nudo's paneling products are used in multiple end markets including architectural and decorative, transportation, stage and seating, marine, animal confinement, flooring, construction, food processing and refrigeration, among others.

This is Nudo's second Davis-Standard sheet system. The company's first system, a coextrusion line installed in the late 1990s, also supports Nudo's paneling and custom sheet business. Additionally, Nudo has two Davis-Standard Mark V® extruders used for manufacturing vinyl moldings and custom profile products.

The fact that Nudo is a family-run business has given the company a niche in producing custom colors and small lot orders more efficiently than many of their competitors. It has also enabled Nudo to service a broad range of customers in the U.S. and Canada, including one- and two-step distributors, OEM manufacturers, wholesale distributors, big box retailers and end users. Most recently, Nudo Products received an equity investment from RFE Investment Partners which will allow Nudo to further expand its product line, operational capabilities and market reach.
