Press release date: May 20, 2014

BERLIN — Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has delivered its 5,000(th) LCR-100 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), which provides critical flight control and navigation data regarding an aircraft's position, heading and attitude for civil and military rotary- and fixed-wing platforms.

Northrop Grumman products, including the LCR?100 AHRS, will be showcased at the ILA Berlin Air Show taking place May 20-25 at the Berlin ExpoCenter Airport grounds in exhibition hall 2, booth 2321.

Northrop Grumman's subsidiary in Germany, Northrop Grumman LITEF, has delivered the LCR-100 to more than 30 customers worldwide since 2008. The LCR-100 is a successor to the LCR-92 and LCR-93 Attitude and Heading Reference Systems that have been in service for more than 20 years.

"In just over five years of production, our LCR-100 has become a successful, widely used system that is noted for its outstanding reliability and accuracy, even in the challenging helicopter environment that is subject to vibration, acoustic noise and unique flight profiles," said Eckehardt Keip, managing director for Northrop Grumman LITEF. "The LCR-100 is distinguished by its gyrocompassing ability that exceeds the standard features of competitor AHRS units, as well as a weight, volume and power consumption that is nearly one-third that of comparable systems."

The LCR-100 has a north-finding gyrocompass feature that eliminates the need for a magnetic sensing unit, similar to an inertial reference system. Additionally, the system's precise inertial measurement unit enables extended coasting performance for the aircraft to continue providing accurate navigation information in the event of GPS signal loss.

Northrop Grumman is a leading global security company providing innovative systems, products and solutions in unmanned systems, cyber, C4ISR, and logistics and modernization to government and commercial customers worldwide. Please visit www.northropgrumman.com for more information.
