Northeimer Engineering Acquires Exton Machine Company to Expand its Injection Molding Capabilities

Northeimer Engineering announces the acquisition of the injection molding business and assets of Exton Machine Company (EMC). Northeimer will be adding the EMC capabilities to its existing insert molding and overmolding operations.

The addition of the EMC business will give Northeimer the added ability to produce high precision, medium to high volume parts up to 3 oz. in size and within a wide range of thermoplastic materials.

Mr. F. E. Ginther, founder and owner of EMC will be advising on product and mold design for the transition period and for the next few years. EMC started operations in 1974 and has an industry expertise in medical vial, screw caps, specialty fasteners, military scuba components, overmold and insert mold design.

All molding operations and equipment will be consolidated at the Northeimer Leesport PA facility. Northeimer will use the additional molding capability to broaden its ability to supply OEMs with critical components as well as to provide more comprehensive capabilities to its contract manufacturing of components, subassemblies and turn-key equipment.

Many commercial and military projects require unique thermoplastic components or specifically designed overmolding operations, Northeimer, in response to these needs and via the EMC acquisition, intends to reduce lead times, NRCs and production costs.
