POSTVILLE, Iowa - Norplex-Micarta, the leading manufacturer of high performance thermoset composites, is pleased to announce the addition of a Thermo Scientific Nicolet(TM) iS10(TM) FT-IR spectrometer to its quality assurance laboratory, at their Postville, IA headquarters. The iS10 is a complete infrared spectroscopy system for routine analytical needs, delivering the highest confidence in the verification and identification of materials. Designed for maximum assurance in its ability to sample and solve challenging problems with minimal investment in time, the iS10 will ensure Norplex-Micarta's raw materials, pre-pregs, and finished laminates are molecularly similar to materials used or produced in the past.
The recent investment in Thermo Fisher Scientific FT-IR technology is one of several capital expenditures Norplex-Micarta has made to ensure that customers are offered premium manufacturing and testing services. Norplex-Micarta materials span many industries including various electrical, construction, oil and gas, military and power generation applications. With state-of-the-art test equipment, Norplex-Micarta's in-house laboratory can conduct the testing that these industries demand. The laboratory has the ability to test to recognized specifications such as Military, NEMA, or ASTM D, customer written specifications and many other widely used standards.
